GE Centricity – Consulting & Training

CentricityIconVisualutions has well over a decade of experience with the GE Centricity suite of products, going back to the Millbrook and Logician days.  

With literally hundreds of implementations under our belts, with customers ranging from small single-provider practices to multi-specialty community health centers and hospitals, we’re ready to assist you with anything you might need – customization, consultation, implementation, training.

Below is a listing and descriptions of some of the training sessions we have available.

Administration Training
This class is focused on the baseline table file set up of the system. This includes a review of all company settings, facility settings, providers, insurance companies, procedure fee schedules, appointments, schedule templates, security as well as others.
Super User Training
This class is focused on the front desk activities of scheduling, patient registration, check-in/check-out, date of visit payments, charge entry (if applicable), and end of day processes. It is designed to get users proficient enough in Centricity to train staff and/or support the implementation of the application at the time of Go Live and beyond.
Scheduling Training
This class is focused on helping the front desk staff find open appointment times, find patients, and booking appointments into the system. If the super user option is selected, your super users will train your front line staff. If the super user option is not selected, this session is conducted onsite.
Front Desk/Registration Training
This class is focused on helping staff capture demographic information about the patient and the guarantor. The staff also learns how to capture Insurance Coverage information about new and existing patients. The check-in/check-out, date of visit payments, charge entry (if applicable), and end of day processes are also discussed. If the super user option is selected, your super users will train your front line staff. If the super user option is not selected, this session is conducted onsite.
Billing Training
Centricity Billing Training is designed to give the billing staff an excellent foundation for completing the tasks within the revenue cycle.
EDI Weekly Calls
The purpose of these sessions is to provide the clinic with a main point of contact to work through any claims issues/rejections that arise. If urgent issues arise, the EDI specialist will work with the client on a more frequent basis.
Reports Training/Financial Dashboards
This training is focused on the Report Generation and Financial Dashboard functions within Centricity.   These reports and views track productivity, billing summarizations, and financial activity of the practice.
Month End/Closing Date Procedures Training
This training is focused on the tasks suggested to ready the financial data in order to enter a closing date.   It also walks users through the process of month end close.
Insurance Payment Entry Training
Insurance Payment Entry training is designed to teach your staff to the manual entry of Insurance EOBs and Secondary Claims Processing. It is requested that the customer should have insurance checks and EOBs in hand to be able to complete and have a successful training with the following scenarios:

  • Primary Insurance Payment
  • Primary Insurance Visit with Secondary Carrier
  • Denied Visit
  • Capitation, if applicable

Once the clinic is comfortable in manual payment entry, it is possible to schedule training for Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) Processing with an EDI Specialist.

Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) Processing Training
ERA Processing training is designed to teach your staff how to:

  • Configure Insurance Carriers for Remittance Processing, including non-payment codes
  • Process Remittance Files
  • Reconcile Remittance Log

It is requested that the customer have ERAs to have a successful training.

Patient Payment Entry Training
Patient Payment Entry training is designed to acclimate your staff to the entry payments from individuals towards multiple tickets and past due balances. It is requested that the customer should have patient payments in hand to be able to complete and have a successful training with the following scenarios:

  • Patient Payment for a past balance.
  • Negative Payments i.e. Refunds, Carrier recoupment (take backs) amounts, or
  • NSF Check.
  • Overpayments
  • Prepayments
Insurance Collections/Statements Training
This class is designed to teach users how to use the tools available within Centricity to follow up on Insurance balances as well as generation of statements for patient balances.Once the clinic is comfortable in bulk plain paper statement generation, it is possible to schedule training for Electronic Statement generation with an EDI Specialist.
Patient Collections Training
This class is focused on the customer’s internal collection process of patient balance follow up, payment plan processing, customizing collection letters, and bad debt visit processing.
